Some deets.....

1. Got back on the supplement program. Started at 244.8 on 06/04/2012. Down to 219.7 as of 07/11/2012. Still going. Still learning.

2. Still amazes me that at one point I weighed 316 pounds.

3. The lowest I've gone on this journey was 197 in March of 2011. I'll get there again. And stay.
4. I still love when people talk to me about weight loss and their own experiences because almost always, I feel as if we're weight-loss-soul-sisters (sometimes brothers)! And I love that connection that I get to have with people.
5. Blogging makes me happy, accountable, and I need it more in my life.
6. Found some more awesome weight-loss/fitness resources. Definitely check these girls out.......

7. I am almost positive that my brother and SIL have pretty much told everyone so I can't help but share........I'M GOING TO BE AN AUNT!!! The little baby boy is due in December! Life just does not get better than that! I am positive of that. MUCH more to come about him in the near future!
8. Speaking of babies, my best friends are all pregnant as well! Most recently, little baby Charlotte was born and has made life just a little more precious! ♥
9. Does anything in this world even come close to how amazing and unbelievable it is to meet a new little baby that has been brought into everyones lives???
10. There is so much going on right now in my life and I really hope that I can start to share some new and positive changes sometime soon.  Until then, hope you all have a great rest of the week.

Weight Wednesday

Considering this blog is supposed to be about my weight loss journey, I guess I should update every once in a while! From November 1st until this morning, I've been maintaining my weight at (give or take a few pounds) 230. And I'm not trying to maintain. My goal is to not "equal out" each and every week. But that's what I'm doing. Some might look at maintenance for 4 months as a good thing. I look at it like I'm sitting around for 4 months trying to talk myself up for change and refusing to start the process. Considering that I've been trying to diet and lose weight for umm......MY WHOLE LIFE, I feel like I'm knowledgeable and more aware of how to lose weight, how to gain weight, why I'm not losing weight, and why I am gaining weight. When you want to change something about your life, you do. If you hate your job, you apply somewhere else, go interview, put in your 2 weeks, and start your new job. If you realize that your boyfriend/girlfriend is just not the one for you, you breakup, go back to the single life and start all over. If you want to move to Switzerland, you pack up your stuff, get a plane ticket, and move. Of course all of these things are extremely challenging on different levels of course but challenging because you have to change what's comfortable and easy to you. You have to switch up a routine. Do things out of the "norm". Allow your day-to-day to be drastically different. And obviously that can be a good thing or a bad thing but the point is that without changing, your stuck with whatever it is in your life that you're desperately telling yourself is not what you want. Bottom line is that if I want to lose weight, I 100% know that I have to change. I have to change the drinking. I have to change my lack of exercise on the weekends. I have to change the food that I'm eating on the weekends. And the reason that I know that is because of my 230 pound weight maintenance. I'm not willing to change so everything stays the same. When I decide that I actually want to put in the work and change, I will. I've done it before. The key is to never just give in and give up. Don't sit at a job all day that you hate. Don't spend your life in an unhappy relationship. Don't miss out on opportunities that you might regret you've never taken. Don't be afraid of better things for yourself by just avoiding stepping outside of your norm and taking the steps that you know need to be taken. I might not be ready to change some of my habits right at this very moment in time but I can tell you that I'm going to keep trying. I'm not giving up at this!

TRY THIS! Tuesday

Snickers Salad

http://www.ericasbloggityblog.com/2011/10/delicious-revision.html
I've already tried this one and it's YUM! And easy!

8 green apples
8 snickers bars (regular sized)
1 container of cool whip

Slice up the green apples into small chunks. Make sure the snickers are cold (frozen even) and chop those up. Combine all three ingredients together and enjoy! Easy! Easy! Easy! Some variations include vanilla pudding mix or sour cream mixed in with the cool-whip but I tried the version above and it was just fine!
Enjoy!

TRY THIS!! Tuesday

Sock Bun Curls!!

Believe it or not, this actually works and I try this quite often.

What you need:
-Medium to long length hair
-Pony tail holder
-Tube sock
-Spray bottle

Steps:
1. With damp to dry hair, gather all of your hair at the top of your head.

2. Spray hair with water in order to make it a little bit damp. You don't want it to be wet and you don't want it to be too dry. You might have to try this a few times in order to get the right dampness.
3. Take your tube sock and cut off the toe part of the sock. Then you just roll the sock up like a donut. Looks like this:
4. Pull your ponytail through the sock so that the sock is at the top of your ponytail. Then you just roll your hair into the sock. There's no real clear instruction for this. You just have to kind of roll and twist and roll some more.

5. Once all of your hair is rolled into the sock, you'll have a bun....a SOCK BUN!

6. Sleep with the sock bun overnight and the next morning when you unroll the sock, you'll get these great curls!

Happy Valentines Day fellow bloggers!

Kate
